Our Story
Why we started New Photography Guide — and why we can’t stop

My daughter’s first school recital. I was in the third row with my phone, shooting photo after blurry photo of a tiny figure on a stage. Every single one was terrible. She was six years old and I already had regrets.
That weekend I bought my first ‘real’ camera — a used mirrorless I found on eBay. I had absolutely no idea how to use it. The manual was 300 pages long and written in a language that felt like physics.
I spent the next year learning, experimenting, failing a lot, and occasionally getting a shot that made me gasp. The feeling of capturing something beautiful — really capturing it, not just pointing and hoping — is unlike anything I’d experienced before.
New Photography Guide is everything I learned, organized the way I wish it had been explained to me: starting from zero, moving step by step, with no assumptions about what you already know.
Our Mission
We believe great photography isn’t about expensive gear — it’s about understanding light, composition, and your camera. Our guides teach the fundamentals in a way that’s actually fun to learn.
Whether you just unboxed your first camera or you’re still shooting on auto mode, you belong here. Let’s make something beautiful.
